We are delighted to present an exciting opportunity for a talented and experienced individual to manage the College’s state-of-the-art Gym facility and to design and deliver a wide range of physical training and activity sessions for College staff and students.  

The successful candidate will be an experienced, innovative and inclusive Sport and Fitness professional, with a background in leading physical training and activity sessions for diverse cohorts. An ability to deliver and assess Fitness Industry qualifications is an essential requirement of the post.

The Gym and Physical Training Manager will work as part of the Sport and Public Services department and will support students on these courses to achieve their qualifications. Experience of working in an FE environment is therefore essential. More broadly, the post will also make a significant and positive contribution to the College’s health and wellbeing agenda, with the successful candidate creating and delivering a range of bespoke, physical activity sessions for both individual Gym users and groups.

The qualifications necessary for this role are a relevant professional qualification which demonstrates the ability to deliver Level 2 Fitness Instructor courses, a minimum of Level 2 qualifications in literacy and numeracy (e.g. GCSE English and Maths at grade A*-C), a Level 5 teaching qualification, and a Degree in a Sport related subject or significant industry experience which demonstrates expertise in relevant fields.
