Bromley Trust Academy (BTA) is an Alternative Provision Academy, offering a specialist educational provision to pupils in Key Stages 1, 2, 3, and 4 who have either been permanently excluded or who have been placed at the academy to prevent a permanent exclusion.

The Academy provides outstanding education and training for children and young people between the ages of 5 - 16 years within the London Borough of Bromley.

We currently have an exciting new role for an experienced and enthusiastic senior leader to lead our new Alternative Provision College at LSEC Bromley Campus location in September 2019

Are you:

? An outstanding teacher?

? Passionate about career progression?

? A current serving outstanding Senior Leader?

The Bromley Trust Academy are looking for a Head of AP College working as part of LSEAT and BTA, leading on the new Alternative Provision College. This has been commissioned by the London Borough of Bromley - to provide an alternative curriculum for young people who attend Bromley Secondary Schools and is initially a two-year pilot (hence a two-year contract to start with).

Students will study one of the following subject areas for two days a week at LSEC Bromley - multi skills, motor mechanics, sport, childcare, hair and beauty and will achieve a Level 1 qualification by the end of year 2. Year one is for year 10 students and Year two will be Year 10 and Year 11 students.

The successful candidate will be leading the provision for 3 days per week and the other two days will be spent working across the Trust as a senior leader supporting key initiatives. You will have experience of working with alternative providers of education and have a clear understanding of the legalities and safeguarding procedures with regards alternative provisions.

The ideal candidate will have QTS and a minimum of two years' experience within a SEN/PRU school. You must be comfortable working within a challenging but rewarding environment. Excellent classroom and behaviour management is essential, coupled with patience. It is imperative you are able to plan engaging and interactive lessons.

Applicants should possess excellent communication and organisational skills, be hard working, flexible and demonstrates a high level of professionalism at all times. They should have high expectations of students, colleagues and self, displaying energy and enthusiasm in and out of the classroom, contributing to the provision's overall success. A willingness to contribute to other areas of school life would be welcome.

You will be working with friendly and supportive colleagues and will be expected to make an extremely effective contribution to the learning and development for children.

The appointed Head of AP College will be looking towards rapid career progression and extended responsibility in preparation for Headship. We will, in addition to supporting your continuous professional development, ensure you are enrolled on a significant, relevant leadership training programme.

If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you!
