We are searching for an experienced and knowledgeable Learning Mentor to work alongside our apprenticeship delivery team in the Plumbing department to help us deliver outstanding coaching and assessment to a variety of apprentices on employer’s sites.
In this role as a Learning Mentor you will be required to carry out workplace assessments with your assigned learners. As part of the role you may also be tasked with a variety of duties, which include working closely with your learners, carrying out 1-2-1 progress meetings with new and existing learners, overseeing the effective sign ups and ultimately managing those learners through a successful apprenticeship. You will not be responsible for the delivery of the program, but you will be expected to work alongside the delivery team to ensure that each learner is on track.
Whilst this role focuses on the development of the soft skills of the apprentices, a background knowledge or some experience of the Plumbing industry is desired. The ideal candidate will have knowledge and understanding of recent developments in training, assessing, and verifying, as well as knowledge of work-based learning standards/frameworks.

If you do not hold the qualifications outlined above but have a willingness to learn The Bedford College Group will support you to obtain these qualifications, alongside further teaching qualifications such as PGCE, Cert Ed or DET. All appointments are subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks, including a satisfactory Enhanced criminal records with Barred List check through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
