Our Higher Education Counselling provision is growing and so, we are looking for a highly motivated individual to join us in delivering and coordinating our undergraduate programmes. The post holder will become part of a friendly, professionally qualified, hard-working and dedicated team on our University of Greenwich and BACP accredited Foundation and BA (Top up) Degree. Primary teaching responsibility will be on the BA in Counselling (Top up)
We are looking for an enthusiastic, team-orientated, flexible individual with excellent communication, interpersonal, organisational and presenting skills. The counselling team covers a range of counselling theoretical approaches, practice and research interests in a team approach to teaching and learning. We are looking for a person with experience in integrative or humanistic counselling and different therapy modalities.
As the HE Programme Coordinator leading and teaching on our higher education counselling courses we are looking for someone currently in practice as a counsellor, Counselling Psychologist, therapist or supervisor, who is a member of a UK professional counselling body (e.g. BACP or UKCP). We will though support the right applicant in obtaining professional membership and additional qualifications.
This is a part time 25.9 hours per week), permanent contract.
What do you need to be successful in this role?
We would like someone with practice and/or teaching experience in counselling using a humanistic or integrative approach of different therapy modalities. Courses are taught and assessed through a variety of interactive activities, including personal development groups as such experience of group facilitation would be helpful in this part of the job.
Applicants should have a BSc or BA in Counselling or Counselling Psychology and relevant professional experience.
You may not currently be in a Programme Coordinator, teaching or indeed have not taught before but we would still be interested in hearing from you as we will support you in your future professional development including obtaining a PGCE along with other relevant qualifications.
