Student Support & Safeguarding Manager
Up to £37,749 per annum
37 hours per week
This exciting opportunity is a varied and challenging role, which will require you to manage and lead our Student Support team in order to deliver a fully integrated and pro-active service for students, apprentices and staff across all our campuses. Working closely with curriculum teams and external agencies, you will have a key focus on student wellbeing and improving the support available to all of our students and apprentices; including supporting the Director to develop and implement the College’s Mental Health & Wellbeing Strategy.
You will ensure the provision of an outstanding student support and guidance service, aligned to the College’s strategic aims. Acting as the named Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead for the College, you will manage complex safeguarding cases and play a key role in embedding and promoting a safeguarding culture across the College and all of its campuses.
You will need to be student-focused with a good understanding of the current issues affecting young people accompanied by excellent management, communication and organisational skills and practical experience of managing safeguarding and child protection cases. In addition, you should hold a relevant degree or be able to evidence equivalent experience in a relevant sector, as well as Designated Safeguarding Lead Training.
This post is based at Suffolk New College, Ipswich Campus, however Suffolk New College is a multi-campus site and you will therefore be required to work at and travel between campuses on a weekly basis.
