Hereford College of Arts (HCA) is a dedicated arts college with a specialist focus on art, media, design, popular music and performing arts.  Our dynamic creative community offers undergraduate and postgraduate degrees alongside a range of further education and short course programmes.  Located in Hereford, we enjoy all the advantages of a compact, historic city set in the midst of exceptional countryside, an area rich in cultural activity, enterprise, and innovation.   The College is proud of its history and track-record but now has an ambitious strategy to grow in scale and develop around curriculum, community, creative spaces and places, and student careers and enterprise to become a truly exceptional centre for modern creative education – rooted in place, connected to the world.

The College seeks to appoint a highly creative and energetic individual to lead our established and successful BA (Hons) Degree programme in Textile Design. Candidates must have a relevant teaching qualification and/or experience of teaching at undergraduate level and industry experience is particularly welcome as a basis for their teaching. Candidates should also be able to demonstrate excellent course and line management skills at degree level. An interest and expertise in related areas of practice, including fashion design and fashion accessories would also be an advantage.

The successful candidate will be a demonstrably excellent and innovative teacher and be at ease teaching across theoretical and practical elements of the Textile Design degree programme. It is also desirable that candidates should have an active national profile outside teaching in critical practice or creative practice, or both.
