Technician - Digital Media and Creative Arts

30 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

GBP 15,469 - GBP 16,606 per annum

City College Norwich is currently recruiting for a part time Technician to expand its highly skilled team supporting learning across the institution. Whilst primarily working with the Digital and Creative Arts department the successful applicant will be required to work in a range of roles, supporting other curriculum areas and events as necessary.

Technician work is varied and follows the changing needs of the curriculum. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following aspects;

  • Workplace Health and Safety, including writing COSHH and Risk Assessments
  • Ordering and stocktaking supplies and equipment
  • Maintaining art rooms and equipment
  • Correct disposal of waste materials
  • Preparing materials and rooms for lessons
  • Control of equipment loans and booking materials out to students
  • Support for events and shows
  • Support for the music department and maintenance of their equipment
  • Support for the use of Apple Macs and digital media packages such as Adobe and Creative Cloud packages, Premiere and Photoshop Illustrator

Knowledge of Digital Media industries, broadcasting, live streaming and the technical set up and operation of TV and radio studio equipment will be essential.

You will work closely with exceptional lecturers and will serve staff from several schools and courses within the college. You will be line managed by one of our two Technician Team Leaders, who look after a team of Technicians that work across a wide range of curriculum including Science,Sport & Leisure, Health & Care, Hair & Beauty, Hospitality &Catering, the Arts, Engineering, and Construction. You may be involved in exciting projects on campus, county-wide or nationally, and there will be opportunities for the right candidate to develop their skills.
