Bring your talents to a progressive and rapidly growing popular college of choice. North Kent College (NKC) is recognised as an Ofsted Good provider following the inspection in November 2017 and we are striving to be recognised as Outstanding. NKC is recognised as the top-performing College in Kent, with subjects like Travel, Tourism & Sport ranked 5th in the UK, Computing 8th, Business, Finance and Legal as 10th and many other subject areas in excellent national positions when compared to all the UK colleges.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an inspiring Head of Maths to join our growing and dynamic team to support and implement the College’s English and Maths Strategy. Teaching on 1 and 2 year GCSE and providing leadership for Functional Skills Maths courses, you will bring innovative ideas to the delivery of the Maths curriculum to ensure all students have the opportunity to develop their mathematical skills to the best of their ability and achieve their aspirations. The College has a dedicated Maths & English Centre which is situated in the heart of the Dartford campus and courses are well-resourced.

We have had particularly successful recruitment in the past of secondary school teachers as well as FE staff who are a well-established and a strong and collaborative team. Applicants will have a degree or other equivalent qualification in a relevant subject, a teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards) and proven teaching experience, ideally within FE or other post 16 provision. Excellent communication skills are also important, along with the ability to relate to learners of all abilities and from different backgrounds. We also welcome applications from newly qualified teachers.

You will teach within a condensed 30 week academic year as we target our learners who must study the compulsory element of their Study Programme of English and Maths if they have not yet achieved a Level 4 by the time they reach us at the age of 16-18 years.

In return, you can look forward to other excellent benefits including 37 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays, pension scheme, life assurance, free parking, onsite nursery, restaurants and a coffee shop. In addition to the above, you will enjoy discounted sports facilities, gym membership and beauty treatments.

Closing date for applications: Thursday 27th June 2019.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students. All appointments are subject to the receipt of a satisfactory Enhanced DBS check, providing it to the College for review.
