34 weeks per year (170 days per year), term-time only

Minimum of 18 hours per week

Salary range £9.28 to £9.92 per hour

Suffolk New College are looking for Learning Support Assistants to provide essential classroom and workshop support, assisting our students and supporting our teaching staff to deliver an exceptional student experience.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work alongside teaching staff, and may be deployed in across a range of vocational workshops or classrooms and could work with groups of students or one to one with a specific student.

You will need to have a flexible style and approach with the ability to build effective relationships with both students and teaching staff, accompanied by the ability to be pro-active and use your initiative. You should have experience of working with young people and an understanding of working with people with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

You will need to have a good standard of education, literacy and numeracy at Level 2 (GCSE C or 4 grade) is essential to the role.  Enhanced hourly rates are available for Learning Support Assistants undertaking personal care duties.
