We have a part time (3 days per week) opportunity for a Horticulture and Landscape Teacher to join us at Merrist Wood.
You will share the responsibility to teach to full-time groups of adults predominantly, but we do have an offering to 16-18-year olds. This will be delivered via face to face teaching, 1:1 intervention, small groups and remote delivery. The role includes preparing schemes of work, lesson and assessment plans, delivering outstanding teaching and assessment and above all ensuring your students reach their maximum potential.

You will hold a professional Horticultural qualification at Level 4 or above / or RHS Level 3. Combined with excellent plant identification skills, plant knowledge and good knowledge of Landscape Construction.
Whilst we would prefer applications from qualified teachers who hold a PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification, demonstrable experience of working within a similar environment would be taken into consideration.
We would also consider applications from unqualified applicants who are motivated to complete a teaching qualification, which Activate Learning will pay for, to deliver on our level 1 courses. Unqualified candidates would start at a lower salary point and this could be discussed at interview, if successfully shortlisted.
What are the benefits of this role?
You will be joining one of the largest Education Providers and will be provided with peer to peer learning, a formal development plan and support at every step of the way to set you up for success. We offer a buddy system, digital induction modules and a close-knit community of experts and managers across the Group to support the sharing of best practice and encourage individual growth. We have extensive technology in place to ensure working for home and flexible working options.
