Assistant Principal - Management Information Services (MIS)

Wirral Met College’s mission is to enhance economic prosperity through high quality, work-related education and training, supporting around 10,000 students every year. The college operates from four modern, well-equipped campuses, interacting closely with businesses and community partners to drive innovation, create opportunities for growth and provide industry-standard learning experiences.

The college has an Outstanding financial health position and was graded as Good by Ofsted in 2017. Our outcomes have continued to rise since our Good inspection outcome and, following a three year trajectory of improvement, we are in an excellent position to push ahead and realise our goal of becoming an Outstanding college.

Our financial and educational success is underpinned by robust MIS and IT functions, and our MI systems, development and performance are exemplary. We are now seeking an impactful Assistant Principal MIS, who will lead the management information and IT functions cross-college and ensure that our current high standards are maintained.

As a member of the college Senior Leadership Team and an attendee at Board meetings, the new postholder will play a key role in driving forward the college’s performance, with an impact on effective curriculum planning, maximisation of funding and management reporting. As well as leading the strategic development of information systems and business intelligence, the Assistant Principal will lead and develop a talented, motivated workforce and work in partnership with stakeholders across the business.

Our successful candidate will have experience of managing information systems in a public sector organisation, preferably within the FE sector, with knowledge of ESFA funding systems. A diligent completer-finisher with a high level of accuracy, you will have the ability to advise senior leaders on strategic matters and to provide effective support and challenge across the organisation. Strong leadership skills, with the ability to get the best out of your teams, are also of paramount importance.
