Salary: £38,000 per annum

Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time.


The Cardiff University International Study Centre are exciting to announce this opportunity for you to join the team as the Head of Academic Programmes and Quality. This is a fantastic role where you’ll provide leadership on curriculum innovation and quality assurance and enhancement at the centre, ensuring that the ISC adheres to relevant academic policies, procedures and quality frameworks.

You’ll manage tutors across a wide range of subject areas.

It’s an exciting time for the centre as they prepare to deliver new programmes and you will play an essential role in this process.   • Lead and motivate academic staff to contribute to ensuring the best possible student outcomes and student experience.
  • Contribute to developing, communicating and enacting the strategy and priorities for the ISC.
  • Lead on ensuring that the ISC is fully compliant with Study Group’s, Cardiff University’s and relevant external agencies’ quality frameworks, policies, procedures and codes of practice.
  • Develop and implement a centre-wide quality assurance strategy for the ISC.
  • Identify, recommend and lead on the introduction of enhancements and innovations that improve students’ experience of teaching and learning and increase their opportunities to progress.
  • Lead on the launch to market of newly designed courses and the new teaching, learning and assessment methods, working with the Heads of Subjects to ensure these are embedded in the curriculum.  
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with key quality assurance and student support contacts at the University, ensuring a full understanding of relevant University quality policies and procedures


  • Leadership and management experience in a teaching and learning environment.
  • Experience of teaching in UK higher or further education.
  • Experience of teaching international students
  • Experience of planning and running complex education courses and programmes
  • Experience of partnership working or partnership management in the education sector
