We are looking for an experienced individual to join our Safeguarding and Pastoral team to provide internal and external support for the Looked After Child cohort. As a College we want to continually improve the retention and success of our Looked After Child learners and ensure that they are fully supported in order that they have a positive learning experience and the outcome they are striving for. You will need to hold relevant level 3 qualification and have had Child Protection training as well as experience in a similar setting. You will have experience of 1-2-1 mentoring, coaching or tutoring and be confident in dealing with sensitive issues. The successful candidate will require an innovative and proactive approach as well as strong administrative and organisation skills. You will have a strong knowledge of safeguarding referrals and be able to identify indicators of abuse and risk. Your experience of multi-agency working will need to be evidenced in your application. Anyone starting midway through the academic year will have their monthly salary slightly reduced, as staff need to have worked a certain length of time through the academic year to be able to receive continued payment through the summer, when you won't be expected to work. The actual figure would be calculated once a start date is confirmed. At the beginning of the next academic year the monthly salary will revert to 1/12th of the whole pro rata salary quoted.
