Group Reporting and Information Manager

The Reporting and Information Manager is a crucial role within Activate Learning.  You will be responsible for providing clear information in a timely way to our key internal and external stakeholders so that they can make informed management decisions.  You will also be responsible for leading on the development of in-house systems that allow our applicants, students, and staff to record and submit information quickly and efficiently.

 

This role will require you to work across all areas of the business and lead a team of 6 report writers and developers.  You will liaise with users to clarify their requirements and produce data reporting solutions and systems that meet those defined goals.  Some of these will be large scale and forward thinking projects that will involve working with multiple stakeholders to achieve a successful outcome.  You will also work with end users to develop the bought-in systems we use in the college to make sure that we are getting best use from them. 

 

The postholder will have the ability to help shape and mould the data storage, reporting and data collection functions for one of the largest College groups in the country.  In doing so you will support it to improve the student experience and develop time and financial efficiencies.

What do you need to be successful in this role?

This is a complex role in a large institution with a complicated funding structure.  The successful candidate will need to be able to understand new systems, process and rules quickly.  As result, a background in FE, particularly in a reporting/data background will be hugely beneficial.

You will be proficient in extracting data from multiple sources and combining these data to give clarity and insight over business support targets and the management of student progress and performance.

You will have experience of leading complex technical projects from inception to conclusion.

It is essential that the successful candidate has the technical and analytical skills to support and lead their team with credibility and insight.

You will have excellent communication skills that will allow you to work across all structures and departments within the organisation to define what users require and manage their expectations.

You will have a keen eye for detail and a clear focus on achieving a fully tested and rigorous solution to each of the challenges set.

You will work closely with all teams across our geography so will be expected to travel when necessary.  The role has developed over the last year and a large part of the role may remain as remote working so geographical constraints may not be a barrier for the right applicant.
