Hourly Paid £25.22 - £28.38 teaching rate - Depending on qualifications and experience
We are currently looking for passionate people to join us in the Computing Department on an hourly paid basis to build up our pool of staff for temporary cover. This role is a casual ‘bank’ tutor/lecturer role with no set hours, with the opportunity to work more hours to support the Curriculum Team during busy months and absences.
The successful candidate will ideally have completed a Degree in Computing, and have a minimum of 2 years relevant industry experience in the subject area. Where a candidate does not hold a recognised degree they should have at least 5 years’ relevant industrial experience and it would be an advantage to hold professional qualifications from Cisco, Microsoft or CompTIA.
The teaching role will involve teaching on a range of programmes from Level 1 to Level 3, covering units such as Networking and Security, IT Systems Support (PC Maintenance) and Software Development. The role may include pastoral care support sessions, and the successful candidate may also be called upon to teach Maths and English Functional Skills.
Ideally, candidates should hold a recognised teaching qualification, although full teacher training will be provided. We will offer you in depth coaching and the opportunity to achieve a recognised teaching qualification whilst in employment. This opportunity could suit those looking to explore a career in teaching who do not currently have a formal teaching qualification.

Having your own transport will be an advantage, the classes will take place at the Welwyn Garden City campus but you may be required to work at the St Albans campus from time to time.
