The successful candidate would be supporting students working at Level 1 to 3 in the Carpentry workshop. You will provide support to Lecturers by tracking and assessing students’ progress, you will help maintain student portfolios to the required standard for their qualification and provide feedback and guidance to support and reinforce their learning. In addition to this, you will prepare materials, tools and equipment, workplaces and workstations and ensure that agreed Health & Safety and environmental practices are implemented and adhered to.
In addition to supporting Lecturers in the workshop you will be required to teach across all levels from 1 to 3 (including Bench and Site) the practical elements of the Carpentry course. To support with the power tools elements delivery and assessments.
You should have a strong commitment to high standards of classroom practice and experience, candidates should have previous experience in the industry and hold a Level 2 Carpentry qualification, it would be an advantage if applicants held a level 3 qualification. We offer a robust Teacher Training programme, whilst learning the role ‘on the job’ full support is given throughout your development to fully qualified teacher status. Whilst in employment you would be enrolled onto the Level 3 Award in Education and training. After completion you would be enrolled onto our Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training qualification. This is a great way for experienced professionals to achieve a recognised teaching qualification whilst in employment.
