About the role; Mechanical Engineering Teacher

You will join our thriving Engineering teaching team in working towards creating and delivering excellent teaching, learning and assessment on our courses at our Bracknell and Wokingham college.

Ideally, you will have a deep understanding of Mechanical Engineering including CAD and Welding, the use of hand tools and workshop equipment, with the ability to deliver purposeful lessons to our level 2 & 3 students.

This is a full-time (37 hours per week), permanent contract, based at Bracknell and Wokingham college.

What do you need to be successful as a Mechanical Engineering Teacher?

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineering Teacher who can act as role model for our students and ensure that they leave us with not just their professional qualifications, but the attributes required to progress in the world of work. A genuine interest in working with and developing young people is a requirement.

Whilst previous teaching experience or qualification would be an advantage, it is not a requirement. As long as you have the qualifications or experience to teach on our Mechanical Engineering courses and demonstrate the attributes to be an inspirational teacher, we can provide you with the necessary training, development and support to equip you to teach in the FE sector.

  • Level 3 or above qualification in Mechanical Engineering 
  • Educated to GCSE level 4/C or equivalent including Math & English
  • Teaching and Assessing experience 
  • Experience of IQA and BTEC/T Levels teaching are also desirable.
  • Experience of working in a practical/workshop environment 

In addition, you will need to have a flexible approach, coupled with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills. You will demonstrate the ability to engage and develop students and role model the attributes that we develop within our learners.
