At The Bedford College Group, our purpose is to help individuals, communities and society flourish through education. As the largest provider of further and higher education in the South East Midlands, we are driven by a clear vision to be the most authoritative and influential post-16 educator in the region.

Our Strategic Plan 2024–27 sets out an ambitious and confident direction for the Group. It strengthens our role as a leader in education, a contributor to local economic and social prosperity, and a champion of sustainability. Across our colleges, sixth forms and community learning centres in Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire, we are building an organisation focused on excellence, innovation and wide-reaching community impact.

Educational Excellence

We are expanding technical, professional and higher-level skills pathways, including T Levels, Higher Technical Qualifications and advanced apprenticeships. Our aim is to ensure every learner progresses confidently and is prepared for their chosen future.

We work collaboratively with employers, local authorities and civic partners to design provision that meets the needs of our region. Our ambition is to raise aspirations, reduce inequalities and contribute meaningfully to economic growth across the South East Midlands.

Sustainability is embedded across our curriculum, estate and operations. We are working towards becoming a net-zero organisation and leading in the development of green skills that are increasingly vital to industry and society.

Digital Innovation and Transformation
We are investing significantly in digital infrastructure, modern learning technologies and the purposeful use of artificial intelligence. These developments support effective teaching, enhance the student experience and provide staff with the tools needed to excel.

With a growing network of campuses and learning centres, we continue to expand our scale and reach. We remain committed to meeting employer demand, improving access to education and delivering opportunities for learners of all ages.
