The city of Norwich has an excellent mix of independent stores, small specialist shops and major high street chains, including being the only location in the UK outside of London to house 4 national department stores. It hosts England's largest permanent six-day market and Norwich Lanes offers one of the UK’s best selections of independent shops, bars and restaurants. Specialist and lifestyle shops includes fashion boutiques, quirky craft designers, vintage clothing outlets, second hand book dealers, antiques merchants and many more. There are also regular craft fairs, collectors’ fairs and flea markets.
One of the stars of the city's retail outlets is City College Norwich's own shop, ego. ego takes in great quality designer fashion and resells it - so it's a great place to pick up a real bargain or to pass on those designer items you have to someone else who will love them as much!
Norwich and Norfolk are proud of the thriving industries in the area – many of which people are not always aware of. Large institutions like Aviva, Lotus Cars, NHS and Colman’s generate a wealth of experiences and jobs within the area. Not just in the finance, health, engineering and food sectors respectively, but also sales, marketing, human resources and operations. We at City College Norwich are incredibly proud of our links with local and national businesses and encourage as work and engagement with industry as possible.
