Our flagship site at Plumpton is set in a scenic location in an 800-hectare estate at the foot of the South Downs, five miles from the county town of Lewes, and ten miles from the city of Brighton. We have some of the leading College facilities in the UK with a wealth of practical and demonstration areas; perfect for every aspect of land-based studies. From our main College farm through to our machinery workshops and horticultural unit, our students are able to use the latest state of the art equipment; developing skills that will make them more employable. We’ve also got an excellent purpose-built wine centre with extensive facilities.
Stanmer Park is a beautiful specialist horticultural centre just on the outskirts of Brighton in the grounds of Stanmer Estate. Our students at Stanmer Park gain hands-on experience of growing rare orchid species, working closely with Kew Gardens and the South Downs National Park. The college has recently been awarded Heritage Lottery funding in partnership with Brighton & Hove City Council to undertake a full renovation of the historic walled gardens within the park. This exciting project will provide our horticulture students with the opportunity to train in the inspirational setting of classic walled gardens, together with full associated retail operations.
One of our most exciting locations, our outdoor Snowdonia National Park Centre brings lots of challenges and enjoyment to all for our adventurous activities students. Right at the foot of Snowdon, we have a 32-bed hostel providing the ideal base for expanding land and water-based skills with challenging climbs, lakes, rivers and trails all within reach.
