Year 2 Teacher

Are you ready to embark on an exciting journey leading a Year 2 class? Do you possess the passion, dedication, and expertise to make a real difference in the lives of young learners? An attractive teaching opportunity at a vibrant school in Heaton Norris awaits!

Tradewind are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 2 Teacher to the team on a full-time basis from May 2024 until at least Christmas, with the exciting possibility of extension based on your commitment and success in the role.

The successful teacher will educate an average sized class of around 30 pupils, providing the perfect balance for effective teaching and individualised attention.

The class comprises of a small number of SEND pupils, 2 of which are on EHCPs, and you will benefit from full-time teaching assistant support, ensuring that every pupil can maximize their potential.

Year 2 Teacher - Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Planning engaging lessons that align with National Curriculum Standards for Year 2 class.
  • Having a strong understanding of the Key Stage 1 curriculum (experience with RWI phonics are highly desirable)
  • Using a range of formative and summative assessment tools to monitor progress and address misconceptions to drive learning forward.
  • Using collaborative techniques to facilitate class participation on an individual and group basis.
  • Use class dojo as an effective behaviour management tool as well as a reliable parent communication portal
  • Linking learning to real life to provide children with a well-rounded knowledge of the world in which we live.
  • Adhering to school policies including safeguarding, behaviour, and assessment.
