SEND & PMLD Learning Support Assistant - Clapham

Empowering Learning Ltd are looking to appoint outstanding SEND & PMLD Learning Support Assistants in the Clapham area with experience supporting SEND students, particularly to work with students with Profound Multiple Learning difficulties. We are looking for enthusiastic and passionate individuals who are hands on and can support students with physical needs; assisting with personal care such as hygiene and feeding, manual handling and assisting with therapy sessions to support students to reach the best of their abilities. You will also be responsible for promoting an inclusive learning environment. So, if you would like the opportunity to make a difference to others and develop a career in working with children with then this is a great opportunity to do so. This position is for position starting ASAP and can start straight away for the right person. Hours of work 8.30 till 4pm.

Job Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils in the classroom on a 1:1 and group basis
  • Supervising children in & out of the classroom
  • Encourage and support the pupils learning
  • Helping the teacher prepare for lessons and plan activities

Job Requirements

  • Have knowledge and experience with PMLD students
  • Experience supporting children with learning difficulties or disabilities
  • Strong communication skills
  • Valid DBS registered with the online update service or be willing to apply for a new one
  • Available 5 days a week and able to commit
  • Able to commit to 3-6 months and potentially longer
