Role Description:

In this role, you will apply your expertise to support SEN children in a Reception Class. Your collaboration with the class teacher, the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), and other specialists will ensure tailored support and interventions that cater to the unique needs of each student. Your key responsibilities encompass:

Nurturing the academic, social, and emotional development of SEN students within the early years classroom environment.

Implementing individualised education plans (IEPs) and adapting teaching materials to suit each student's specific requirements.

Assisting in the implementation of behaviour management strategies and fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment.

Collaborating closely with the class teacher and SLT to track and monitor the progress of SEN students.

Maintaining open channels of communication, providing regular feedback to parents and caregivers on their child's progress.

Requirements:

To excel in this role, you should possess:

Proven experience as a teaching assistant, particularly in supporting children with SEN, ideally within an early years (Reception Class) educational setting.

A deep understanding of various learning needs, including but not limited to autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and emotional and behavioural disorders.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling the building of positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.

A patient, empathetic demeanour and a sincere passion for working with SEN children.

Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant Certificate.
