Secondary School Design & Technology Teacher - Milton Keynes

Job Description:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Design and Technology Teacher to join a vibrant secondary school in Milton Keynes. This role is ideal for a passionate educator who has a flair for creative and technical instruction, and is committed to fostering a positive learning environment for students aged 11-16.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Delivery: Teach Design and Technology according to the UK National Curriculum standards. Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and informative lessons that inspire and challenge students.
  • Student Achievement: Monitor and support the overall progress and development of students. Utilise data and assessments to facilitate and adapt lessons to meet varied learning needs.
  • Resource Management: Effectively utilize resources and ensure the provision of lessons that meet the curriculum's practical and theoretical requirements. Maintain a safe and tidy classroom environment.
  • Professional Development: Engage in continual professional development to keep up-to-date with educational policies and specialist knowledge.
  • Communication: Maintain effective communication with parents, guardians, and colleagues regarding students' progress and welfare.
  • Extra-Curricular Involvement: Contribute to the school's extracurricular activities program, which may include clubs, sports, and other activities.


Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Must hold a UK-recognized teaching qualification (PGCE, B.Ed, or equivalent).
  • Experience: Minimum of 6 months of teaching experience within the UK education system is essential.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of the Design and Technology curriculum including but not limited to woodwork, electronics, and textiles. Ability to manage classroom behavior and engage students of varying abilities.
  • Characteristics: Passionate about education, creative, adaptable, and a strong team player.
  • Other: Must be eligible to work in the UK. Enhanced DBS clearance required.
