Head Teacher (14 to 16 Direct Entry) Barnsley College - Permanent - £53,717 per annum

Barnsley College are looking for a Head Teacher to oversee our small Direct Entry department. This is an excellent opportunity to develop and help shape our 14-16 provision and lead the department to maintain our Outstanding status.

Head Teacher
14-16 Direct Entry

Permanent vacancy - 37 hours per week
£53,717 per annum


Our new Head Teacher will provide leadership and line management direction, motivation and be responsible for driving curriculum development. You will focus on optimising learner retention, achievement and progression, utilising an innovative approach to teaching and learning to achieve the highest quality.

The purpose of Direct Entry is to support young people who are not benefitting from school and are motivated by a more practical curriculum. The department aims to work in conjunction with secondary schools in Barnsley and the local authority to provide a genuine alternative provision for students who need a more vocational aspect to their studies.

We are looking for an inspiring and passionate leader and educator, with the skillset to develop in this leading role. With a proven track record of successful student outcomes in a school setting, you will not only be an outstanding Teacher, but you will have the ability to lead and co-ordinate others; recognising what makes a successful high performing team.
