IN SHORT

Milton Keynes College have an opportunity for a passionate Peer Mentoring Lecturer who believes in the power of transforming lives through learning. If you can effectively engage with learners and can demonstrate excellent classroom management skills, we would like you to be part our education team based at HMP Isle of Wight.

As a Peer Mentoring Lecturer, you will actively engage prison-based students by delivering creative classes helping to develop skills and knowledge that will enable them to support their peers whilst in custody. The qualification delivered is the Award in Peer Mentoring Level 2 (NCFE). The successful applicant will be taking over a well-established course that has a scheme of work, lesson plans and resources already in place.

Many of the students have a diverse range of needs and learning abilities, they will often have had a negative experience with education. As a successful Generalist & Peer Mentoring Lecturer, you will truly inspire them and provide students with a positive learning experience.

Milton Keynes College is passionate about reducing re-offending by providing learners with qualifications and skills that they can apply to employment whilst in custody and upon release. We would like you to be part of the learner’s journey, offering your skills and knowledge to guide them throughout their courses.

If you are highly motivated with a can-do approach to education, this is a great opportunity for you!

MK College will treat all applicants fairly and with respect, irrespective of their background, disability, or any other individual characteristic.
