Cover Supervisor - Hertford Secondary School

About Us: We are partnered with an excellent secondary school in Hertford and surrounding area's who are seeking regular cover supervisors.

Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join our team. As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the continuity of learning by supervising classes during the short-term absence of teachers. You will deliver pre-prepared lesson plans, manage classroom behavior, and ensure a productive learning environment for our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise classes in the absence of the regular teacher, following pre-prepared lesson plans.
  • Manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times.
  • Encourage student engagement and participation in learning activities.
  • Provide support to students as needed, fostering a supportive and inclusive atmosphere.
  • Liaise with teaching staff and senior leadership to report on student progress and any issues arising during cover sessions.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in a school setting or with children and young people is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage classroom behavior and maintain discipline.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in different subject areas and year groups.
  • A passion for education and supporting the learning journey of young people.
