IN SHORT

Milton Keynes College have a new vacancy for a Inclusion Practitioner/ Student Support and Recruitment Worker to join the education team based at HMP Wakefield. The Inclusion Practitioner/ Student Support Recruitment Worker will act as an ambassador, promoting education to maximise the recruitment of students onto learning programmes and supporting their learning goals within the prison. In addition, you will be a point of contact for prospective and current students of The Open University. You will be responsible for administrative processes, data entry and maintenance related to the learning experience, liaising with students and supporting their journey towards gaining higher education qualifications in a flexible way.

As a successful Inclusion Practitioner/ Student Support and Recruitment Worker, you will provide appropriate guidance to students when selecting courses and support the education allocation process by delivering a range of ICT/paper based initial assessment and screening assessments. You will also be confident in promoting the benefits of education and be actively involved in all aspects of student recruitment and programme marketing, working in partnership with HMPPS and other agencies to develop and deliver support services for our learners.

ABOUT HMP WAKEFIELD:

HMP Wakefield is a high security establishment holding category A and B prisoners with a capacity of around 750. The vast majority of prisoners are serving sentences of more than 10 years, and include some of the most challenging and complex prisoners. The main aim is towards the settlement and enabling of offenders to engage with programmes to reduce their risk and supporting them with their long term stay.

Education at HMP Wakefield takes place mainly within one education building, with further delivery offered across the estate on outreach.  Education is available on both a full time and part-time basis (depending on specific courses) and is delivered over nine sessions from Monday to Friday lunchtime.
