MK College Group have an exciting opportunity for a Tiling Tutor to join the prison-based Education Team at HMP Rochester in Kent. As a Tiling Tutor, you will be actively engaging prison-based learners with creative classes and resources. The current qualification we offer is the Certificate in Construction Skills (Wall and Floor Tiling), the successful candidate will have knowledge and experience of Tiling, either as their main trade specialism or an aspect of their multi-trade knowledge and experience. If you have trained/mentored apprentices/team members and enjoyed sharing your knowledge this could be a perfect role for you!

Many of the learners have a diverse range of needs and learning abilities, they will often have had a negative experience with education. As a successful Tiling Tutor, you will truly inspire them and provide learners with a positive learning experience. This role may involve outreach work outside of the main classroom setting. You will be connecting with learners in a professional manner, supporting them with their learning, enabling them to achieve success through not only qualifications, but developing the confidence and softer skills that they can apply to employment upon release as well as other areas within education the prison.

We are seeking an individual who can communicate well with learners to inspire and motivate them. The average class consists of 8 learners and the sessions are approximately 3 hours long. Your lessons will need to be adaptable, innovative, and imaginative.
