Main Purpose of the Job

As the Head of Campus, you will take the leading role in ensuring the success of students and staff at dBs Institute in your city. This position requires a passionate individual with strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of higher education operations, and the ability to collaborate effectively with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders. You will work in partnership with other Group senior leaders to promote our brands within the local community.

You will oversee the daily operations of a busy team of dedicated and passionate individuals, including academics and those in support and services roles, providing dynamic leadership and helping to ensure a world-class student experience through effective achievement of key performance indicators. As the Head of Campus, you will also develop and nurture internal and external partnerships, including key industry contacts and feeder institutions, ensuring dBs Institute remains at the forefront of current and emerging sector needs, providing an innovative and highly attractive offer to all.

This role also provides an opportunity to help shape the further development of an exceptional student experience, working with senior leaders to enhance the provision nationally, across dBs Institute, ensuring that the offering is effectively communicated both to current and future students.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Faculty Management & Quality Assurance:
  • Undertaking leadership of the academic team within the campus, ensuring effective management of the curriculum alongside the Head of Learning & Teaching Innovation.
  • Undertaking line management of Course Leaders, supporting them in their daily activities and line management of Module Leaders.
  • Providing guidance and support to the academic team in curriculum development, learning & teaching methodologies, and assessment strategies, aligned with dBs Institute and partner regulations.
  • Fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment among the academic team, supporting effective teamwork across campuses.
  • Consistently assessing key metrics for both staff and course performance, identifying opportunities for improvement, and working with senior leadership to devise strategies to address and enhance these areas.
  • Overseeing the Implementation of quality assurance activities across the academic team, ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations, frameworks and practices.
  • Overseeing allocation of Personal Tutor provision across the campus and leading on the design and implementation of group tutorial content.
  • Collaborating with senior leaders to conduct periodic reviews and audits of academic activities to assess compliance with quality assurance frameworks.
Student Support Services:
  • Undertaking line management of the campus Student Support and Student Services leadership , supporting them in their daily activities and line management of their respective teams.
  • Developing, implementing, and evaluating campus-based strategic plans for Student Support Services aligned with dBs institute's goals, objectives and established practices, including but not limited to Belonging, Access & Participation, Equality, Diversity & Inclusion, and Accommodation targets.
Campus Environment & Community:
  • Ensuring the campus is welcoming and provides a dynamic and inclusive environment that fosters innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
  • Promoting and championing Belonging across the campus and the wider organisation, drawing on and implementing findings from internal and external initiatives.
  • Fostering a sense of community across the campus through student focused initiatives, including societies and social activities.
  • Developing community engagement initiatives that promote knowledge exchange and collaboration with external stakeholders, seeking partnerships with industry and community organisations.
About You
  • A postgraduate degree in a relevant field (e.g. music production, sound engineering, music composition, sound design, music business, game art, games design, games programming).
  • Higher education teaching qualification or professional recognition (e.g. PGCert, FHEA or equivalent).
  • Experience in a leadership and/or management role within a higher education setting, with a demonstrated track record of success.
  • Experience of engagement with a wide range of stakeholders, including applicants, students, staff, industry partners, alumni, and the wider community.
