About The Role

This position will be based at our brand new, purpose-built and designed 19,000 square feet campus on Commercial Road in London's East End. This campus is a creative hub for gaming, esports, music, media and computing.

This Assistant Head of Student Support, Maths & English is a pivotal role in ensuring, through effective leadership and management, that all students receive high-quality learning, pastoral care, maths & English and academic support. The Assistant Head will also be responsible for the effective budgeting and line management of campus support staff. The post holder will work alongside the Management Team to ensure that the students receive high-quality learner experiences whilst driving the campus goals and targets in relation to student outcomes. They will also act as our Exam Officer and have responsibility for dealing with external organisations from; awarding bodies to local authorities and agencies.

You will be responsible for 5 - 10 employees who are all part of the ALS and teaching delivery team, within your area of responsibility. You will lead by example in fostering effective communication channels and conducting regular meetings to ensure alignment and cohesion within your team. You will be committed to staff development, identify training needs and provide mentorship opportunities, nurturing a supportive and growth-oriented environment.

You will champion student support and safeguarding initiatives, ensuring that all learners receive the necessary care and resources to thrive academically and personally. You will have r esponsibility for the effective review, recruitment and ongoing management of SEND students (including those with an EHCP), ensuring that the campus is equipped to provide the necessary support.

ACC is not your typical 9 - 5 pm role. Whilst the contracted hours are 37.5 hrs this will be managed flexibly across the academic year to reflect the peaks and flows in working in education.

  • Salary Scale: £38,000 - £43,000 per annum (plus performance-related OTE up to £4,000)

You will have a p roven track record of effective management within further education and be e ducated to degree level, or have a relevant professional qualification and/or experience.
