Graduate Teaching Assistant

Are you looking for a role within education for September? We are looking for proactive and empathetic individuals who are looking for a new challenge. Whether you already have experience working as a Teaching Assistant, experience working with at risk individuals individuals or experience working with children or young people in some capacity, we would love to talk with you. A supportive and welcoming secondary school in Brent, North-West London are looking for graduate teaching assistants starting in September to support the staff and students. Graduate Teaching Assistant roles are available in multiple departments, and graduates of all disciplines are welcome to apply.

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant your focus will be on guiding and working with students wtih Special Educational Needs (SEN), as well as supporting the class as a whole. You will play a crucial role in supporting the learning and development of students with SEN within a mainstream secondary environment. Your role could involve working within a specific SEN department, within multiple different age groups/subject groups, or with individual students on a intervention basis. As a Learning Support Assistant no day is the same, and the role would best suit someone who adapts easily and is proactive.

They are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic individual who has experience working within a secondary environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Working with children aged 11-16 within the English and humanities departments.
  • Working with children with special educational needs (SEN)
  • Providing one-on-one support to students who may require additional help
  • Supporting classroom management and maintaining a positive learning environment
  • Helping to assess student progress and providing feedback

Requirements:

  • A proactive and enthusiastic approach to supporting students' learning
  • Experience working in a secondary school environment
  • A Bachelors degree (min lower second)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • An enhanced DBS on the Online Update Service
