Pastoral Support Assistant

Job Title: Pastoral Support Assistant

Location: Bankside College, Hanley Castle, WR8 0AD

Salary: £19,233.75 to £22,000 per annum

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8:30am-4:30pm

Contract: Permanent; Term time only

Due to growth in service, we are recruiting for a Pastoral Support Assistant to join our team at Bankside College located in Worcestershire.

About us

Bankside College is an exciting new venture that has opened near Hanley Castle, Worcester. Working in partnership with the Outcomes First Group and Options Autism, the College will provide a Further Education experience for those aged 16 to 24year-olds with autism, complex needs and learning disabilities. The main aim of the College is to help its students prepare for adulthood and their next stage in life.

In a new purpose-built building, situated in acres of natural beauty, Bankside College will provide a varied, individualised curriculum to enable its students to gain vocational and independence skills to help them achieve their aspirations.

The role

To manage pupils' behaviour, delivering high quality care and support for emotionally vulnerable young people.

To work in close collaboration with the Pastoral Manager for Senior Staff to maintain a consistent approach and service delivery to the young people.

To practice with a high degree of competence, with the aim of reducing barriers to education and independent social interaction, leading to all pupils achieving their potential.

To co-ordinate, all services in school to provide integrated provision for pupils.

To work with specific boys and develop their resilience and skills within lessons and around the site to improve their engagement in their own learning.
