Your mission will be to foster an inclusive environment where every student can thrive, ensuring they reach their full potential academically and personally.Main Tasks and Responsibilities:- Support the College's mission and values, promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion.- Implement safeguarding, health and safety, and data protection policies.- Collaborate with colleagues to provide holistic support to learners, both in and out of the classroom.- Tailor support to meet individual learner needs, including assistance with personal care, IT support, and adapting learning materials.- Foster independence while maintaining a safe and healthy environment for all students.- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to quality assurance processes.- Undertake additional duties as required, including off-site tasks and transportation support.Particular to the Post:- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all duties.- Work closely with teachers to ensure effective support in various learning environments.- Attend meetings to discuss learner progress and provide reports to managers.- Develop a deep understanding of learners' needs and apply appropriate support strategies.- Promote self-esteem, appropriate behavior, and academic success among learners.- Assist with exam access arrangements and supervision.- Contribute to administrative tasks within the Supported Learning Department.- Provide one-to-one or small group support sessions, including literacy and numeracy programmes.- Utilise Emotional Literacy Support approach in practice.Person Specification:- Strong educational background, particularly in English, Maths, and IT.- Experience or willingness to obtain qualifications in learning support and teaching.- Training or experience in personal care, First Aid, and Emotional Literacy Support.- Understanding of in-class support strategies and ability to apply them effectively.- Awareness of challenges faced by students in an inner-city college context.- Proven ability to support learners in flexible and changing environments.- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.- Organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks effectively.- Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.- Knowledge of learner progression paths and health and safety procedures.If you're ready to embark on a rewarding journey where your passion meets purpose, we want to hear from you.
