Secondary School - Maths Teacher

We are looking for a Maths Teacher to work at a Secondary school in the BS16

Teacher of Mathematics

  • Teaching Maths at KS3 and KS4
  • Bristol-based Secondary School

You must have relevant experience working with 11 -16-year-olds within the last 2 years, and we must be able to obtain relevant references for this time. You should have a professional manner and a flexible attitude to working and timetable changes. Most importantly, you should be enthusiastic, engaging and passionate about working with young people. Strong behaviour management and the ability to implement schools' behaviour polices is also essential. To be successful, you will be a Qualified Teacher (ECT's welcome to apply) and have recent experience of teaching Maths across Key Stage 3 and 4.

You can typically expect the following responsibilities for this role:

  • Ensuring that the statutory requirements of the National Curriculum are met.
  • Delivering engaging and creative Maths lessons to students in Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Supporting Maths classes in the absence of the timetabled staff/teacher.
  • To have a primary focus on maintaining good order and ensuring students are on task so that learning can take place.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. ECT's welcome to apply.
  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics
  • Recent experience teaching Maths at secondary school level.
  • Hold an enhanced DBS certificate that is registered on the Update Service or be willing to apply for a new one.

  • Have a genuine desire to become part of a committed team of school staff.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with other teachers and staff members.

You will be paid a competitive daily wage, based on your experience and the responsibilities of this assignment, plus you will accrue holiday pay with the option to take it at any point of the year.
