We are currently working in partnership with a private Specialist Provision SEND school in St Helens Central to recruit a passionate SEND teacher in Key Stage 3.
This is an interesting and beautiful provision which offers help with academic and life skills qualifications for pupils who may have struggled in mainstream secondary education.
The school promotes excellent behaviour and works with the local community to help build confidence and employability skills for young learners. The school works with local businesses to provide experience which pupils may not have had in the mainstream and promote a smaller class size and strong leadership support to teachers and pupils.
This role is paid to scale depending on experience and is initially 2 days a week from the May half-term with the potential to move to full time or increased hours in September 24.
Hays can provide interview and application support for applicants and feel this could be a fantastic opportuity for an ECT teacher who would like to explore the SEND provision environment as a potential career option. The school will provide full ECT support and a caring and nurturing environment for staff.
Your new company.

They incorporate an ethos of fun and inquisitiveness in their approach to the KS3 curriculum, promoting students to shine and enrich their learning journey. It has plenty of enrichment opportunities for pupils and a holistic approach to education and life skills teaching.
Your new role.
You will be required to immerse yourself within SEN provisions and immerse yourself in your teaching roles and responsibilities. You will work alongside pupils with SEN difficulties and use teaching and behavioural methods in connection with EHCP and Learning Authority guidance and work closely with the school SENCo. You will need to differentiate materials according to allow pupils to access the curriculum and bring up attainment in your class. You may be required to direct support staff and create a calm and conductive learning environment for your pupils. You will take part in training in line with the school CPD calendar.
What you will need to succeed.
