Over the last 50 years, Capel Manor College has helped thousands of school leavers and adults achieve their dream of working with animals, plants and the environment. As London's environmental college, the College plays a vital role in the green agenda for the capital, equipping the next generation of land-based sector workers with the skills and knowledge needed to preserve and protect London's wildlife, national parks and green spaces

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Capel Manor College and we are now seeking to appoint a Team Leader in Foundation Learning based at our Mottingham Campus with responsibility for provision across all Campuses.

Foundation Learning provision offers courses for young people who require one year of additional learning before progressing onto vocational courses, an apprenticeship, or employment. Capel Manor College also delivers a school link program to support young people, in year 10 and 11, who have an interest in Land-based studies.

The successful candidate will be leading, managing, and developing a new curriculum area which includes the implementation of the Princess Trust Scheme. The candidate will work collaboratively and innovatively with staff to lead a culture of self-assessment and continuous improvement, promoting high standards of teaching and learning within the area, and producing high standards of student achievement, progression and value added. The Team Leader acts as the Lead Internal Verifier and ensures all quality assurance procedures are fully complied with. Activities such as ensuring a high quality of provision in response to student needs and promoting new ways of teaching are also part of the role. The team leader will manage all staff teaching delivering Foundation Learning courses and the Princess Trust Scheme and will also have a 0.5 teaching commitment.

The ideal candidate will have a good knowledge of SEND, behaviour management and have a teaching qualification or a willingness to work towards this qualification, a degree or similar in an appropriate discipline.

We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, as well as the opportunity to work in a supportive, collaborative and beautiful land-based environment.
