Travel and Aviation Teacher

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Travel, Tourism & Aviation Teacher at Barnfield College, New Bedford Road, Luton.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is passionate about making a difference to the lives and careers of our learners. You will join a vibrant and high-performing school and be confident that you can contribute to our high standards and expectations, lead teams and drive excellence.

The ideal candidate will be proactive and student centred You will have a good level of experience that can be shared within the classroom environment. The successful candidate will have the ability to manage the progress of learners and support their pastoral needs, whilst monitoring course specific KPI's.

You will be teaching across Travel, Cabin Crew and Aviation programmes level 1-3. Units could include airports & airlines, aircraft emergency procedures, aircraft operations, ground operations, aviation communications, UK travel, coastal tourism, visitor attractions, passengers on board.

The successful candidate will be skilful in developing a wide range of learning materials which engage and stimulate students linking teaching content to work-based experiences and skills development to reach higher potential and progression to employment, apprenticeships, or Higher Education programmes.

You will have a good level of industry knowledge and experience that can be shared within the classroom environment. You will have an ability to promote and develop subject specific employability skills and embed English and Maths within planning delivery of all teaching.

You will be committed to providing prompt, detailed assessment of student work and providing learners with individual target setting to enhance their development.

The team and our learners already benefit from links with local employers, opportunity to further these links is welcomed.

Teaching experience within the Travel and Tourism sector is desirable, although we are keen to hear from people with a high level of industry knowledge or career experience. Teacher training can be provided for the right candidate.
