We are seeking a dynamic Communication Support Worker to join our supportive Additional Learning Support Team at Peterborough College. In this role, you'll play a vital role in empowering D/deaf/hard of hearing/deafblind students to actively participate in learning and achieve their academic goals.

What you'll do:

  • Bridge the communication gap: Provide specialist support to students, fostering independence and maximising their learning potential.

  • Collaboration is key: Work closely with teaching staff and our existing team of CSWs to create a strong, collaborative learning environment.

  • EHCP Expertise: Deliver tailored support for students with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).

  • Grow Your Skills: Develop your knowledge and expertise within an experienced and supportive team with funding provided to achieve a Level 3 qualification in British Sign Language.

Who you are:

  • Sign Language Savvy: Hold a Level 2 qualification in British Sign Language.

  • Learning Support Specialist: Possess a Level 2 qualification in Learning Support or equivalent experience.

  • Strong Communicator: Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a Level 2 qualification in English & Maths.

  • Team Player: Thrive in a collaborative environment, working effectively and influencing others.
