In this exciting and fast paced role as lecturer in Alternative Provision you'll predominantly be based at our Springfield Centre in Dewsbury. Your focus will be on delivering a quality learning experience for students within the Alternative Provision/Motor Vehicle department.

Your key responsibilities will be teaching students English and maths at Entry Level 3 as well as components of our personal development curriculum. You will be confident working alongside students with SEND and SEMH needs and have experience in this field. You will already have a good understanding of specific learning difficulties, neurodiversity, mental health needs and behavioural issues and how these impact on young people in learning environments and seek to support students through a restorative and inclusive approach.

Ideally, you'll have Level 3 or higher (the specific subject area is less important than the transferrable skills), a teaching qualification at Level 5 and Maths & English at Level 2 (or be able to prove equivalent ability) and demonstrable experience in SEND/SEMH teaching. You will have appropriate teaching strategies to support learning; particularly with students with SEND or SEMH needs. It's important that you're able to show a trauma informed approach and demonstrate our college values of Kindness, Unity and Excellence in your role.
