Could you make a positive contribution to our school?
We are recruiting for a co-opted governor to join our friendly governing body. Our governors come from a range of different backgrounds, skills and experience but all share a common interest of wanting the best possible education for the children in our school. Governors are essential for the effectiveness and success of the school and it is an extremely rewarding and fulfilling role. All school Governors serve a 4 year term. They act as a 'critical friend', working voluntarily to strategically oversee the running of the school.
Voluntary Unpaid Position
Sacred Heart Primary School is a two form-entry primary school in Tipton for children from 3 to 11 years of age.
Our vision is to develop young people who will have active and creative minds, a sense of understanding and compassion for others, and the courage to act on their beliefs. We stress the total development of each child: spiritual, moral, intellectual, social, emotional, cultural and physical. We are a richly diverse community, and pride ourselves on our highly inclusive practice, endorsed by achieving the Sandwell Inclusion Quality Mark for the second time at the highest level (Enhanced level).
Being a school governor is a challenging but hugely rewarding role. It will give you the chance of making a real difference to young people, give something back to your local community and use and develop your skills. Schools need governing bodies that have a balance and diversity of knowledge, skills and experience to enable it to be effective.
