      The Foundation Maths Team at Exeter College:
      • prioritises engagement, confidence, and inclusivity

      Are You Ready for the Challenge?

      Our Foundation Maths Team teach post-16 learners who did not achieve a national benchmark in secondary school. This unique role allows us to directly tackle the barriers these learners face, employing cutting-edge pedagogy informed by years of experience, external training providers, and CPD events. This role has been created as part of the expansion of the Foundation Maths team to meet the needs of the community and a growing cohort.

      Key Responsibilities:
      • Deliver high-quality GCSE and Functional Skills Maths teaching to post-16 learners.
      • Use innovative and evidence-based approaches to engage students who may have struggled with maths in the past.
      • Support learners in developing both numeracy skills and confidence to achieve their academic goals.
      • Create a positive and inspiring classroom environment that fosters growth and resilience.
      • Work collaboratively within a supportive and forward-thinking team.
      • Engage with the wider 'Outstanding' Exeter College vision to be Exceptional.
