      Level 3 Teaching Assistant - SEMH School
      Location: Bolton
      Contract: Full-time, term time
      Start date: ASAP (or by agreement)

      We are currently recruiting a Level 3 Teaching Assistant on behalf of a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school in Bolton. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled and resilient TA who is passionate about supporting pupils with additional and complex needs.

      The Role:

      • Supporting pupils with SEMH needs across the school day, both in the classroom and through targeted 1:1 or small group interventions

      • Working closely with teachers, SEN staff and external professionals to support learning, behaviour and emotional regulation

      • Using trauma-informed and restorative approaches to manage behaviour positively

      • Helping pupils to access the curriculum, develop social skills and build emotional resilience

      • Supporting pupils who may display challenging behaviour, ensuring a calm and consistent approach

      The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

      • A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)

      • Proven experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour or trauma

      • A good understanding of behaviour management strategies, emotional regulation and de-escalation techniques

      • The ability to build strong, professional relationships with pupils who may struggle with trust and engagement

      • A calm, patient and resilient approach to work

      Desirable (but not essential):

      • Experience in an SEMH school, PRU or alternative provision

      • Team Teach or similar behaviour management training

      • Experience supporting pupils with Autism or ADHD

      • Psychology, youth work or related background
