      English Teacher

      Apply
      Apply Apply

We are looking to appoint a passionate and resilient English Teacher to join a Key Stage 4 provision supporting pupils with SEMH and associated needs. This is an exciting opportunity for an English Teacher who thrives in a small, nurturing setting and wants to make a genuine, lasting impact on young people's lives.

The successful English Teacher will be part of a close-knit team working with a small cohort of pupils, delivering high-quality English teaching while supporting emotional, social, and academic development. As an English Teacher, you will play a key role in helping pupils re-engage with learning, build confidence, and prepare for their next steps beyond secondary education.

      About the Provision

This is a provision supporting up to twenty Key Stage 4 pupils in a safe, inclusive and highly supportive environment. The focus is on high expectations, personalised learning and ensuring every young person leaves as a confident, well-prepared young adult ready for post-16 education, training, or employment.

The provision has been developed in close partnership with the local authority and aims to deliver outstanding education and care. There is a strong emphasis on building resilience and supporting pupils' emotional, academic, vocational and physical development to secure meaningful and sustainable life outcomes.

      What the Provision Offers Pupils

      • High-quality teaching and access to specialist facilities
      • A small, calm and nurturing learning environment
      • Bespoke alternative education programmes
      • Access to realistic accreditation and training opportunities
      • Vocational pathways delivered alongside local providers
      • Supported work experience and employability programmes
      • A smooth transition into further education, training or work
      • Qualifications in core subjects including Functional Skills, GCSEs, City & Guilds and ASDAN
      • Therapeutic support and access to a named work coach

      The Role

As an English Teacher, you will:

      • Deliver engaging and differentiated English lessons to KS4 pupils
      • Support pupils with SEMH needs to achieve academic progress
      • Contribute to a positive, respectful, and aspirational school culture
      • Work closely with pastoral staff, therapists, and external professionals
      • Help pupils develop essential literacy skills for life beyond school

      Why Join?

This provision is driven by ambition, kindness, and a belief in every young person's potential. Staff work collaboratively to celebrate success, promote independence, and create opportunities that improve long-term life chances. The curriculum blends formal learning with enrichment and real-world experiences to help pupils become confident, connected members of their communities.

Not quite the right role for you? We have a range of positions across SEN and specialist settings - feel free to contact us or pass this opportunity on to someone who may be interested.

Academics are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, therefore all applicants will be subject to a full face-to-face registration and an Enhanced DBS (Formerly known as CRB).
