This Teaching Assistant role is based in an ambitious and thriving special school school in West Leeds. They are looking to recruit an enthusiastic apprentice for the role starting in April 2026 to work with their pupils in the classroom that have SEND requirements such as Learning Disabilities and Autism.

• Assisting in the delivery of effective teaching on a one-to-one basis or in small groups
• Helping with the planning and delivery of lessons
• Supporting pupils with their educational and behavioural development
• Preparing classroom resources
• Providing feedback to teachers and parents

• Enthusiastic and passionate about helping children reach their academic potential
• Proficient numeracy and literacy skills
• Experience working with people with Learning Disabilities, or in an EYFS setting.
• Ability to form excellent relationships and rapport with pupils
• A minimum 11 month commitment required for completion of the course
• Not currently enrolled in any other government-funded programme
• Must be available during school holidays to complete 20 hours of online training each half-term
