SEN EYFS Teacher (ASD Specialist)Location: Ashford, KentContract: Full-Time Start Date: Easter 2026

Are you a passionate and nurturing EYFS Teacher with experience delivering the UK curriculum to children with Special Educational Needs? We are seeking a dedicated SEN EYFS Teacher to join our supportive and welcoming SEN school in Ashford, specialising in supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

      About the Role

You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Framework, tailored to meet the individual needs of pupils with ASD. Working within small class sizes, you will create a structured, safe and stimulating environment that supports communication, social development, and emotional regulation.

You will work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, SENCOs, and parents to ensure each child receives a personalised learning experience that promotes progress and independence.

      Key Responsibilities
      • Plan and deliver creative, differentiated lessons in line with the UK EYFS curriculum

      • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs)

      • Use ASD-friendly teaching strategies (e.g. visual supports, structured routines, sensory integration approaches)

      • Foster a positive, inclusive and supportive classroom environment

      • Monitor, assess and report on pupil progress

      • Work closely with parents, carers and multi-disciplinary teams

      Requirements
      • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

      • Proven experience teaching the UK curriculum within EYFS

      • Experience working with children with ASD, ideally within an SEN setting

      • Strong behaviour management skills and understanding of autism-specific strategies

      • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

      • A patient, resilient and compassionate approach

      • Must have the right to work in the UK and be willing to obtain an enhanced DBS (child-only) on the update service or be willing to get a new one. A new DBS costs £62 and we will reimburse the £62 once you complete 20 days of work with us.
      • If you have been out of the UK in the last 5 years for 6 months or more, you will also need to obtain an overseas police check.

      Why work with Tradewind Recruitment?

      • Competitive daily rates and transparent pay.
      • Ongoing access to over 2,500 CPD-accredited courses through The National College.
      • A dedicated and experienced consultant supporting you every step of the way.
      • A reliable and knowledgeable compliance team ensuring smooth onboarding and continued support.

If you're ready to support children and young people in a setting where your care, consistency, and commitment can truly change lives, apply today to join a supportive and forward-thinking specialist school community.
