      How will this person be a Changemaker?

      This role will act as a changemaker by shaping high quality Computing provision that responds to industry needs, improves learner outcomes, and enhances the overall student experience. Through strong leadership of teaching, learning, assessment, and pastoral support, the post holder will drive improvement, champion innovation, and positively influence learner aspirations, progression, and destinations.

      About the Role

      This is a permanent, full time Programme Leader role within the Digital and Computing department. The post holder will lead a Computing programme, taking responsibility for curriculum development, learner progress, quality assurance, and day to day programme performance, alongside the responsibilities of being a lecturer.

      This is a great opportunity for an experienced Computing professional who wants to combine teaching with leadership, curriculum influence, and student impact. The role offers opportunities for professional development, leadership growth, and involvement in new programme development, quality improvement activity, and the use of teaching and learning technologies to enhance the learner experience.

      Role Responsibilities

      • Lead the delivery and quality of Computing programmes, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, and assessment
      • Monitor and support student recruitment, attendance, progress, achievement, and progression
      • Maintain accurate programme data and contribute to curriculum performance review processes
      • Lead internal and external quality assurance activity in line with awarding body requirements
      • Provide effective pastoral support and guidance to students throughout the learner journey
      • Contribute to curriculum development, team collaboration, and sharing of best practice

      Qualifications

      • Degree or relevant vocational qualification in Computing or a related subject, or commitment to work towards
      • Teaching qualification or commitment to work towards
      • Level 2 English and Maths
      • Commitment to ongoing professional development
      • Experience of delivering high quality teaching within Computing or a related area
      • Experience of curriculum development and quality improvement
      • Ability to use data to monitor performance and inform action
      • Strong digital literacy and ability to use learning technologies effectively
      • Experience of assessment, feedback, and quality assurance processes
      • Excellent communication, organisation, and team working skills
      • Experience of programme or course leadership
      • Experience of working with awarding organisations
      • Experience within the 16 to 18 education sector
      • Experience of internal quality assurance activity
