      Drama Teacher Maternity Cover - Bedfordshire

      Quantum Scholars are currently working with a fantastic secondary school in Bedfordshire who are seeking a qualified and experienced Drama Teacher to join them immediately. This is a long-term position running until the end of the academic year.

      The school is a co-educational secondary with a sixth form, known for its commitment to academic excellence, personal development and strong pastoral care. They deliver a broad, knowledge-rich curriculum across KS3, GCSE and A-Level, and have been rated "Good" by Ofsted.

      Responsibilities
      • Plan and deliver engaging, creative and well-structured Drama lessons across KS3, KS4 and potentially KS5.

      • Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Drama examinations, supporting strong progress and attainment.

      • Teach a range of dramatic techniques, practitioners and performance styles.

      • Encourage creativity, confidence and collaboration through practical and theory-based lessons.

      • Support and, where appropriate, lead school productions, performances and extracurricular drama activities.

      • Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners, including high-achieving students and those with SEND.

      • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes excellent behaviour and participation.

      • Assess, monitor and report on student progress in line with school policies.

      • Provide constructive feedback to support pupils' performance and written coursework development.

      • Contribute to curriculum planning and the continued growth of the Performing Arts department.

      • Attend departmental meetings, parents' evenings and wider school events.

      • Uphold the school's safeguarding policies and maintain high professional standards at all times.

      Requirements
      • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

      • A degree in Drama, Performing Arts or a closely related subject.

      • Proven experience teaching Drama at secondary level.

      • Strong subject knowledge, including experience with set texts and theatre practitioners at GCSE (A-Level desirable).

      • Confidence in directing and supporting student performances.

      • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to inspire creativity and engagement.

      • A commitment to high standards of teaching, learning and pastoral care.

      • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

      • The right to work in the UK.
