      'Together, Let's Be Extraordinary'

      Our Organisation
This role is advertised by ELLG Professional Services. Part of East Lancashire Learning Group, ELLG Professional Services provides expert business support services to the wider Group.

East Lancashire Learning Group is made up of three merged colleges: Nelson and Colne College, Accrington and Rossendale College and Lancashire Adult Learning. The Group is a beacon for teaching and learning excellence. It is an innovative provider; a research hub for teaching and learning, with a clear ambition to deliver the best possible experience and outcomes for learners.

      The Exciting Role
A new and exciting opportunity has become available for a number of dedicated and compassionate Inclusive Learning Coaches at both our Nelson and Accrington sites.

Our Additional Learning Support (ALS) Department is a vibrant, learner-centred team committed to breaking down barriers and empowering students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to thrive. You'll be joining a highly supportive, knowledgeable and values-driven team who work collaboratively to champion inclusivity across the college. This is a role where your expertise, creativity and passion for supporting others can make a life-changing difference every single day.

Whether delivering specialist 1:1 interventions, helping learners build confidence and independence, or working closely with curriculum teams to create inclusive learning environments, you'll play a key part in ensuring every learner has the opportunity to succeed.

Successful candidates will be allocated to either Accrington & Rossendale College or Nelson & Colne College per academic year. Allocation may change in future years depending on learner recruitment and business need.

      What You Will Be Doing:
      • Managing a caseload of SEND learners, many of whom have Education, Health and Care Plans, and monitoring their progress.
      • Planning, delivering and evaluating targeted 1:1 / small-group interventions and workshops.
      • Completing initial screenings and using results to inform support plans.
      • Supporting learners with assistive technology.
      • Maintaining accurate Inclusion Profiles and intervention records.
      • Working closely with teaching staff to ensure inclusive practice and effective reasonable adjustments.
      • Supporting learners during transitions, enrichment activities and across different curriculum areas.
      • Communicating effectively with the ALS team, parents/carers, external agencies and other professionals to support learner progress and review outcomes.
      • Attending annual reviews and representing ALS at wider college events.
      • Promoting trauma-informed and restorative approaches to support learner engagement and wellbeing.

      What We Are Looking For:
      • A relevant Level 3 qualification (e.g., Education, Supporting Teaching and Learning, Specialist SEND) and GCSE Maths and English at grade C / 4 or above.
      • Proven experience delivering effective 1:1 and small-group interventions for learners with SEND.
      • Strong understanding of EHCPs, high needs provision and the statutory review process.
      • Excellent working knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice (2015) and inclusive practice within an FE setting.
      • The ability to build positive relationships and communicate effectively with learners, staff, parents and external professionals.
      • A practical understanding of trauma-informed practice and restorative approaches to support behaviour, engagement and wellbeing.
      • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a varied caseload and work both independently and as part of a team.
      • Sensitivity, professionalism and respect when supporting learners, including when providing physical or personal care.
      • A genuine commitment to promoting inclusion, safeguarding and improving outcomes for learners with SEND.

      What We Offer in Return:
      • Access to a workplace pension scheme - with generous employer contributions
      • Generous annual leave allowance including a two-week closure over the Christmas period
      • Enhanced occupational sick pay scheme and access to family friendly policies and benefits
      • A range of health and wellbeing benefits and support
      • Staff recognition scheme, including long service awards
