We are currently looking for an enthusiastic Lecturer to join the Public Services team at Abingdon & Witney College. This role offers the opportunity to teach across a range of programmes, with a primary focus on delivering Public Services qualifications (Levels 1, 2, and 3) to 16 - 18 year old learners.
Key Responsibilities - Deliver engaging, high-quality teaching on Public Services courses (Levels 1-3).
- Support, motivate, and inspire learners to achieve their full potential.
- Contribute to curriculum development within the Public and Professional Industries faculty.
- Work collaboratively within a passionate and experienced team.
- Participate in employer and community engagement activities to enhance students' employability.
- Maintain accurate records in line with College requirements.
Essential Criteria - Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Qualified to degree level or equivalent in Public Services.
- Qualified Teacher (or for exceptional candidate, willing to qualify).
- Demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding/Child Protection issues relevant to the post.
- Willingness to complete teacher training and engage in ongoing professional development.
Desirable Criteria - A recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, Cert Ed, AET).
- Previous teaching experience particularly within Further Education.
- Experience delivering vocational or Public Services qualifications.
- Knowledge of current developments and employer needs within the Public and Professional Industries sector.
- Experience working in partnership with employers, charities, or community organisations.
